* is a platform where the voiceless and identity-denied victims of domestic violence reconstruct their voice, identity and find back their dignified place in the family , society and life at large
*is a strong basis for the disempowered women to get empowered, and to empower other disempowered women, working as Catalysts in their own localities
* is a comfort zone for women with wounded psyche to find consolation, confidence, guidance and motivation to live a life with social justice. and to lead other strggling women towards this goal.
when?
Having started its liberative initiatives among the victimized women in 1988, FORWORD got registered legally in 1992, under the Indian Trust Act.
Where?
FORWORD primarily works in Kanchipuram District and in Chennai of Tamil Nadu. While carrying out activities of counselling, handling of personal issues, lobbying and advocacy, networking, issue-based solidarity etc. FORWORD spreads all over Tamil Nadu and India.
The main office of FORWORD is placed in Tambaram, while the area-wise field offices are situated in Ramapuram near Melmaruvathur, Thandarai in Madhuranthagam Block and Vengambakkam near Vandalur.
