CTS has the General of Shipping’s approval for FFA Routines

In another landmark achievement, CTS obtained the formal approval from Director General of Shipping (controlling body which governs the shipping industry) for servicing and related repairs of all Fire-Fighting Appliances on-board ocean going vessels. This approval enables CTS in undertaking maintenance and repair of FFA equipments and submit reports to Mercantile Marine Department for endorsement, to confirm the fire-fighting capability and sea worthiness of the vessels.

CTS – For Major Turnkey Contracts and Vessel re-certification

Another specialty, for with shipping companies depend upon CTS, is its remarkable capacity in timely execution of turn-key contracts.

On several occasions, CTS has its unmatched ability and efficiency in carrying out major repairs in the shortest span of time, thus enabling vessels to get their Sea-worthiness Certificates from Classification Survey agencies.In 1996, CTS was asked to carry out extensive repairs on a Russian vessel. “M.V.Coromandel Clipper”. In a short period of 32 days, CTS did 52 tonnes of steel renewals, 2.3 kms of electrical recabling, 2 kms of pipeline renewals, complete overhauling and survey of the main engine, three auxiliary engines, boiler re-tubing, crane servicing and a host of other miscellaneous repairs.

In 1999, CTS carried out 95 tons of steel work on an Indian bulk carrier, “M.V. Gem of Madras” within a period of 32 days – without affecting the normal schedule of the vessel and its cargo movement., Impressed with the performance and the saving on precious charter timings, the owners of this vessel have subsequently awarded significant and critical repair contracts on their other vessels.

 CTS’ Foray into Power Generation and Heavy Industrial Sector

 The reputation and goodwill generated from marine industry for their professional management skills and technical expertise, paved the way for CTS to enter into heavy industrial sector – especially power generation. CTS was invited to executive turnkey overhauling and was awarded maintenance contracts of power plants. CTS had carried out extensive overhauling and servicing of 50MW engines of the 200MW Basin Bridge Power Plant, Chennai. The remarkable speed and quality with which the contract was executed has prompted its owners in extending contracts for other engines in this power plant.

 CTS has been invited from other industrial sectors also to carry out various machinery erection  and maintenance contracts. Recently CTS has won contracts for routine maintenance of engines and other machinery in deluxe hospitals and hotels, both in India and abroad.
